Singapore, 4 August 2025 – This World Breastfeeding Week, homegrown brand Hegen is launching its Gift-A-Pump initiative, a nationwide Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme supporting pregnant and breastfeeding educators in Singapore as they return to work. This initiative will run from 4 August to 30 September 2025.
Through the Gift-A-Pump initiative, 1,000 sets of the Hegen PCTO™ Double Electric Breast Pump (SoftSqround™) will be gifted to eligible educators across Singapore.
Founded in Singapore in 2015, Hegen began from one mother’s mission to offer practical and seamless products that can make breastfeeding less overwhelming.
“Celebrating Hegen’s 10th year makes this World Breastfeeding Week especially close to our hearts,” said Yvon Bock, Founder and CEO of Hegen. “Breastfeeding was the driving force that sparked our mission of empowering 100 million mothers, and it continues to shape everything we do. This year, we are honouring the educators who go above and beyond to nurture the next generation both in the classroom and at home. This initiative is our way of expressing gratitude for their unwavering dedication in guiding our children and being their role models.”
Empowering the Women Who Shape the Future
Hegen’s Gift-A-Pump initiative focuses on supporting pregnant and breastfeeding educators in Singapore, particularly those working in pre-schools, primary schools, secondary schools, and junior colleges as these are environments where the demands of caregiving and teaching are most intertwined.
Educators hold an important role in nurturing and caring for young minds, and for those who are mothers, raising children of their own at the same time. Their work requires energy, compassion, and presence, both professionally and personally. But for those returning to work while breastfeeding, the transition can be especially challenging, with back-to-back teaching schedules, fixed break times, and limited access to private spaces that can make it difficult to find time to pump during the school day.
According to Singapore’s 2021/22 National Breastfeeding and Child Feeding Survey[1], exclusive breastfeeding rates drop sharply by the six-month mark. The most common reason cited by working mothers for stopping earlier than planned was the resumption of work.
Through this initiative, Hegen hopes to bridge this gap by supporting more working mothers and reminding them that they do not have to choose between nurturing their own child and showing up in their careers.
Giving Back the Hegen Way
The initiative reflects Hegen’s corporate purpose, to create sustainable feeding solutions that improve maternal and child health through education, advocacy, and accessible support. It also brings to life the brand’s ongoing mission to empower 100 million mothers worldwide, not only through thoughtfully designed products, but through practical care that supports them in their everyday lives.
Beyond this initiative, Hegen’s commitment will also continue through The Hegen Foundation, a key driver in its journey of impact and purpose moving forward. Hegen is committed to multiply social impact in 3 areas: (1) Accessible Education, enabling underprivileged youths to pursue higher education, particularly in healthcare (2) Supporting Children, supporting the well-being and development of disadvantaged children (3) Empowering Women through maternal health programmes and practical support for vulnerable mothers.

ABOUT HEGEN
To enhance and create a positive breastfeeding journey for parents, Hegen was established in Singapore in 2015 by its Founder and CEO, Yvon Bock, whose vision was to modernise a feeding system that advocates breastfeeding, protects the integrity of breastmilk, and simplifies the way mothers express, store and feed.
